Lexa Miklos – Black Fury – Ahroun Born January 4, 1984 The second born of fraternal twins, Lexa was destined for great things from the moment of her birth. Her mother – Alexis Miklos – was one of the Black Fury war heroes. Like her mother, Lexa was born an Ahroun – one of the warriors of the Garou Nation. And her lineage can be traced back to the first original Black Fury – Journey, the first daughter of the moon goddess, Artemis. Every generation has produced legendary heroes, and it’s now fallen on Lexa’s shoulders to continue the tradition. Orphaned at two years old by the death of her mother and her father’s murder attempt on her, Lexa was sent to live with her lesbian aunt, and her aunt’s lover. The two women raised the child without telling her anything about the people that she came from. It wasn’t until Lexa turned 16 that she discovered the truth of her heritage. Whisked away from her native Greece, Lexa was thrust into the world of the Garou. She made friends quickly with Jimmy Marshall and Logan Ashlocke. Their small pack was instrumental in the development of the Albany, New York caern. About four years later Logan was taken from their pack and replaced with Grayson. Rowan soon followed once they rescued her from the Umbra. Many years later and they're still a pack, although retired, they still have each other's backs. It was never planned that Lexa would discover Jimmy to be her mate. It was against the Litany. Garou shall not mate with Garou. Still, they were destined to be together – to bring a life into the world together. Their daughter, Shiloh Ayliana Miklos, was born on March 1, 2007. She is the Perfect Metis – a homid born child of two Garou, without any flaws or derangements. In an effort to give everyone the best chance possible, the elders of their Caern sent Lexa and Jimmy off to the Canadian wilderness to form their own Caern. As the highest ranking among those that went to the Canadian wilderness, Lex decided that the Caern should be a Memory Caern. Over the course of eleven years the pack has traveled far and wide to bring other Fera into the Caern. A place with Gaia’s memory is remembered and all the Fera live in peace with each other. Old rivalries and distrust have been put aside in favor of harmony in Gaia’s name. Every year the Caern grows. More Fera and Garou alike come to them in search of a peaceful place to live. It’s made the Caern a target of those who would destroy Gaia, but everyone fights together to keep their home safe from wyrm taint. On July 15, 2014, Lex and Jimmy added to their family. A son was adopted from the New York Caern and brought out to the Canadian wilderness. They named their five day old son Alexander Logan Marshall. Like Shiloh, Alexander is true born. He will one day be a Glass Walker Ahroun. With their family now complete, Lex is focused on keeping her children, family, and home safe. They have guardian angels watching out for them, as well as those who call the Gaia’s Memory Caern home. There's a long journey ahead of Lexa, but she's prepared to face whatever comes with Klaive and claws at the ready. Jimmy Marshall – Glasswalker – Philodox Born December 20, 1982 The youngest of three children, James Theodore Marshall is the only surviving member of the third generation of Marshalls. His eldest sibling, Kyle, was lost in battle before Jimmy was born, but he was especially close to his sister Emma, a kinfolk who married into the Silver Fang tribe. Sheltered from the darker realities of Garou life by his parents for the first ten years of his life, Jimmy was unprepared for what he found when he went to visit his sister for a few months at her new home. Powerless to stop what he saw, he found himself bearing horrified witness to abuses that he never dreamed possible. At 12, he was forced to watch as his sister and several other Kin were raped, and saw children as young a year murdered for not being trueborn. The violence culminated a month into his visit, with a terrified Jimmy being loaded into a car, which Emma then purposefully crashed. The state police found the dazed boy wandering by the side of the highway, and were eventually able to reunite him with his parents. Always a loner, Jimmy had an even more difficult time making friends or establishing emotional bonds with people up until he found himself in a pack at the age of 16. Despite the fierce protectiveness he exhibits toward his packmates, and the unquestionable love and loyalty he feels for them, Jimmy has remained closed mouthed about nearly every aspect of his personal life, preferring instead to lock away the dark horrors of his past under a mask of wry indifference. The only time he allows the inner turmoil to show is in battle, where he unleashes his rage and helplessness on unsuspecting opponents – be they minions of the Wyrm or careless Garou who decide to abuse their kin. In ten years, he has helped his family build their caern to nearly triple its original size, and done his best to make sure that all of his packmates stay alive. It may not be the most ideal situation in the world, but it’s all he has. Grayson Havenfield — Silver Fang — Theurge Born November 23, 1982 On the 23rd of November, 1982, Grayson Havenfield should have been born into a life of privilege. Private schools, private club memberships, all the ridiculous extravagances known to the precious few who came into the world with the right last name. On the day he was to come home from the hospital, one of the nurses put another baby into his mother’s arms, and Grayson went to another family. With no hint that anything was amiss, Grayson’s new parents took him home to their flat in London’s East End, and gave him the name Adam Collins. He lived there with them for nearly eight years, and grew into a quiet, bookish boy who needed glasses to see more than ten feet in front of him, and whose body was too uncoordinated for football or rugby. He had one good friend, a girl named Rowan. She was everything he was not – quick, coordinated, popular, and beyond the bare minimum, she never picked up a book. She made sure that the other children let him be, and that he was never lonely. In return, he told her stories of pyramids, ruins, and ancient Gods from his books, made her laugh, and promised that things would never change. Three weeks before his eight birthday, everything changed. His birth parents discovered the swap, and in a confusing whirlwind of insanity, the boy who had been Adam Collins became Grayson Havenfield, heir to the Havenfield fortune, and prisoner of its expectations. A new home, a new school, and a whole new set of friends were forced on him, and his new parents told him that he was to forget his old life and immerse himself in the now. For five years, he had no choice. They monitored his mail and computer access, and filled his every minute with something to do and somewhere to be. Then came the summer of his thirteenth year, and Camp Twilight. He didn’t know it then, but his mother was a trueborn Silver Fang Galliard, and his father was kinfolk. Knowing might have made him more careful, and less of a target – but they didn’t want to tell him. Not until they were sure he was also trueborn. So, that summer, when he stumbled into the middle of a ritual sacrifice being held by a group of Formori, he didn’t understand what he was seeing. They captured him, and during the ensuing struggle, he went through his first change. The battle was bloody and close. He survived, but barely, and escaped back to camp broken and bloody. Rowan found him there – and told him the truth about his heritage. He was a Silver Fang Theurge, and she was a Child of Gaia Ahroun. Rowan got him away before the Black Spiral Dancers could find him, and took him to meet with her pack leader, another Silver Fang named Jonas. From that moment on, his next new life began. Jonas gave him a place in the pack, and he soon found that he was an extraordinarily talented Theurge, but it was Rowan who eventually gave him his new name – Pharos, the island foundation that held up the Lighthouse of Alexandria. She’d grinned at him as she explained, “The lighthouse brought joy and hope to millions, but without a strong foundation, it never could have existed. You aren’t the biggest or the strongest, but you’re the foundation. Without you, the rest of us couldn’t do what we do.” And so it went for several years. They were not the most famous or renowned pack, but in a world where countless thousands fell to darkness every day, they never failed to do whatever task was set before them. They took care of one another, and looked out for one another. In the evenings, after the battles were won and their packmates were asleep, Rowan still called him Adam and he still promised her that things would never change. Jonas, however, grew jealous of their closeness. She was HIS second in command, and he grew to resent the way she sided with Grayson in decisions, and so started drawing up his own battle plans while ignoring Grayson’s advice. He led them into the Umbra and got their other packmates killed by a swarm of Nexus Crawlers. Jonas himself was driven mad by a trickster spirit, and Rowan was lost trying to save him. Grayson tried to go with her, but she pushed him to safety at the last moment, and he woke bloody and alone in a forest outside the Virginia hills. He’s on his fourth life now, assigned to a new pack, and new mission, but he has not forgotten his old lives. His dreams and some feeling he can’t explain tell him that Rowan is alive somewhere out there. The odds of ever finding her are slim, but even despite everything his parents have ever told him about forgetting what came before and moving forward; he knows that the best part of himself started in an East London flat, and that he only survived because his best friend found him and helped him come to terms with a life he never wanted. Because of her, he is now Pharos, the foundation, but she is his lighthouse, and what is a foundation without its lighthouse? So, no matter what anyone tells him, he will never give up on her, and that will never change. Rowan Mitchell — Child of Gaia — Ahroun Born June 21, 1986 Their union was against the Litany. Garou shall not mate with Garou. But they were in love. Star crossed lovers who took every precaution against having a baby. They didn’t want to have a Metis child. But even with all the protection in the world, sometimes accidents happen. A child was conceived and her parents went into panic mode. They weren’t going to abort. They did everything they could to make sure that the pregnancy went smoothly. Thankfully, she was born into the Child of Gaia tribe. Still, her birth on the Summer Solstice didn’t go smoothly like her parents wanted. Her mother died bringing her into the world — a little crinos baby who wailed her displeasure at being born to the moon high above them. Her whole world for the beginning of her life was the Caern she was born at. While she was never mistreated, she lived with the sins of her parents hanging over her head. Shifting was easy by the time she started school and met Adam Collins. He quickly became her best friend in the whole world. While he was bookish and quiet, she was one of the popular kids. Dark red hair and brilliant blue eyes set her apart from the rest of their peers. Even though the popularity was nice, she didn’t seek it out or thrive on it. She thrived on her friendship with Adam. He told her stories and calmed the Rage that swirled inside her all the time. She found comfort in his voice and a sort of peace. She was devastated when he was taken away from her by his biological family. She knew deep inside that they’d be reunited again someday, but the wait was difficult. Rowan got into trouble often without Adam to help her reign in her Rage. It was worse when she lost her father to a pack of Black Spiral Dancers that attacked the Caern when she was just 11 years old. She lost a lot of friends in that attack. Her father died protecting her. As he fell, she took his klaive and eviscerated the Dancer who was grinning manically at her over her father’s dead body. As she knew would happen, she was reunited with Adam. Although his name had been changed to Grayson by his biological parents. Rowan saved him from a pack of Black Spiral Dancers after his first change. Then she brought him back to her pack leader. Grayson was given a place in their pack, but all was not well. Jonas, the Alpha of the pack, was horribly jealous of the relationship between Grayson and Rowan. He became reckless and determined to separate the pair. A doomed trip into the Umbra achieved that goal. The pack was overwhelmed by Nexus Crawlers and destroyed. Jonas went insane with the help of a trickster spirit. Rowan became lost as she shoved Grayson to safety outside the Umbra. For six years she wandered the Umbra, trying to find her way out and praying that Grayson hadn’t given up trying to find her. She wasn’t giving up, so she prayed to Gaia and Luna that Grayson wouldn’t give up on her. It was July 2014 when Grayson and his new pack came to rescue her. His new Alpha, even though she didn’t even know Grayson and Rowan, couldn’t leave a Garou wandering the Umbra until they died. She led her pack into the realm and they began their search for Rowan. They searched for several days before they found her. Now she has a new pack. A new Alpha. And a new chance at life. Grayson is her foundation in this new pack, just as he’s always been throughout her life. She doesn’t know what tomorrow will bring, and she doesn’t really care. All that matters is the present and finding her place in this second chance at life.
